Have you ever arrived at your destination only to discover you forgot to bring your necktie or shaving razor? There is no denying the fact that most corporate Business Travelers have faced such embarrassing situations.
Packing for a business trip need not be a tedious or cumbersome affair. By planning ahead based on the number of days in the trip, your luggage can safely arrive at the destination, with all your requirements in tact. Here are a few Business Travel Tips to help you pack all the things you need when on a Business Travel.
Make a comprehensive list of things that you need to pack.
In your pre-travel time, make it a point to launder used/soiled clothes so that you have adequate dresses when on a business trip.
Pick up any extra needed items, such as a new business shirt or a gift for the client you will be meeting.
Make sure you have all your Travel documents including your passport if you are bound
for an international destination. Make photocopies of these documents to keep in your suitcase.
Remember to bring credit cards and at least store some cash separately in the brief case.
Depending on where you are going, you may need to convert money into foreign currency before you depart.
Carry a stack of business cards and your electronic items, such as your mobile phone, MP3 players, chargers, batteries, laptop etc.
If you like to read, bring one or two books and a couple of periodicals.
Besides, pack any relevant notes, printouts, directions or other paperwork for the trip inside the zip portion of the suitcase or carry on bag.
Make the most of suitcase space by packing business essentials for a corporate trip, including trousers, jackets, dress shirts and several neck ties. Be sure to place shampoo bottle, toothpaste or mouthwash, in a sealable plastic bag to prevent these items from oozing and spoiling your clothes. Avoid over-stuffing your suitcase so that you can easily carry it around from the Airport to the point of transportation and to the hotel.
Pack enough clothing for each day of your trip and you may add a couple of shirts for evening wear. You should include some pairs of socks and a few handkerchiefs. Belts should be rolled and placed in the pockets of space around the central pile of clothing. It may also be worthwhile to include a backup set of clothes in your carry- bag in case your luggage gets delayed.
Preserve the suit jackets and shirts inside a garment bag to prevent wrinkles. Place the covered suit jacket in the center of your suitcase and fill up the surrounding spaces with other clothing, covered shoes and your toiletry bag. Jackets should have flat tissue paper inside and the jacket folded in half by catching the shoulders and flipping over the arms to form an X shape.
Try to pack a wrinkle-resistant jacket, and remember that 100% cotton and linen are generally not travel-friendly materials. Push tissue paper into the toes of shoes to keep them in shape and wrap them individually in tissue and place in shoe bags.
